3 Suspicious Incidents Reported At Montclair Homes: Police
Three suspicious incidents that may have involved burglary attempts were reported at homes in Montclair, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Three suspicious incidents that may have involved burglary attempts were reported at homes in Montclair last week, police announced Tuesday.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the following incidents recently took place in the township.
April 13 (Grove Street) – A resident reported that his security cameras captured an unknown man on his property at 3:17 a.m. He reported that the man entered on the north side of the property and can be seen walking to the rear of the home and out of sight. The male attempted to make entry to a side door, which was locked. The suspect was described as a male of an unknown race, who was wearing dark sneakers, a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and baggy sweat pants. Entry was not gained and nothing was reported missing, police said.

April 14 (Warren Place) – A resident reported that he believes someone attempted to gain entry into his residence. He said that at approximately 7:30 a.m., he observed multiple handprints on the exterior side of the first-floor windows. He added that he also saw that the exterior screens to the windows had either been lifted up or slid to the side. In addition, the rear storm door located on the north side of the house was slightly ajar. There are no suspects in this incident; entry to the home was not gained, police said.
April 18 (Warren Place) – A resident reported that upon waking up in the morning, she discovered broken glass by the back-porch area. She stated that there was no other damage to the screen door or the back door. She also stated that there were no other signs of forced entry. The resident believes this incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. on April 16 and 8:10 a.m. on April 18. Nothing was missing and there was no damage to any other property, police said.
