7 Vehicles Illegally Entered Over 2 Days: Montclair Police

Montclair PD: The incidents took place on Gordonhurst, Fairmont, Beverly and Midland.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — At least seven vehicles were illegally entered over a two-day period in Montclair last week, authorities said.

Montclair police said the incidents are being investigated. Authorities reminded residents to lock their vehicles.

According to the MPD, the following incidents were reported in the township:

  • July 2 (Gordonhurst Avenue) – “Two unlocked motor vehicles were entered during the early morning hours. A laptop worth approximately $2,000 was removed from one of the vehicles.”
  • July 2 (Fairmont Avenue) – “An unlocked vehicle was entered while parked in the driveway. The vehicle was rummaged through but nothing reported missing.”
  • July 3 (Beverly Road) – “Two unlocked vehicles were entered in the early morning hours. Both vehicles were rummaged through and a set of headphones were stolen from one vehicle.”
  • July 3 (Beverly Road) – “An unlocked vehicle was entered while parked in the driveway. It is unknown if any items were taken.”
  • July 3 (Beverly Road) – “An unlocked vehicle was entered during the early morning hours. A makeup bag was removed and recovered on the street later in the day.”
  • July 3 (Beverly Road) – “An unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through. It is unknown if any items were taken.”
  • July 3 (Midland Avenue) – “A gym bag containing miscellaneous items were removed from an unlocked motor vehicle. The bag was located down the street.”
