AAPI-Themed Lantern Festival Will Illuminate Montclair Park

The sixth annual Lantern Festival for Justice and Unity will take place in Edgemont Park.

Join AAPI New Jersey for the sixth annual Lantern Festival for Justice and Unity on Saturday, May 30 from 6 to 10 p.m. (rain date: Sunday, June 7) when we illuminate Edgemont Memorial Park with more than a thousand lanterns in honor of all the people who have helped light the way forward.

This beloved event brings together thousands of people from all walks of life to share in the AAPI community’s dreams of a more just, inclusive, and welcoming future. Come explore our shared histories, build solidarity, and enjoy live music performances and inspiring speakers during this joyful, powerful evening for all ages.

The program will feature performances by Vanguard Theater Company, the UCC Pride Choir, singer Kerala Kim, Matrix Jazz, and The Mon Bros.

AAPI New Jersey and community partners will share opportunities for children and adults alike to learn about AAPI history, create artwork, share stories, and engage in social justice work.

Picnic on the lawn with delicious offerings from Angry Archie's, Chef JS Latin Dragon, Guerriero Gelato, Kampamilya, Lady Kettle Corn, Ms. Fu's Yummy Food Truck, PossessedbyCoffee, Tunkas, Twelve, and Urban Leaf Cafe.
