Amazing Net- Zero Energy Home Renovation

Our presenter, Raj Parikh will present the story of how he and his sons renovated his Paramus suburban home to be a net-zero-energy showcase

The radically redesigned house of Raj Iarikh has no furnace, no air conditioner, and no hot water heater but can melt snow right off the driveway.

This renovated 60-year-old suburban home integrates solar thermal, solarvoltaic, geo-thermal, and wind energy production, captures of rain water, and reclaims waste water, and integrates air monitoring (e.g.CO2) and process controls.
Raj Parikh is CEO of Metropolitan Building Consulting Group, a Engineering/Architecture firm specializing in sustainable design, resource reclamation, and project consulting. Wherever possible, Metropolitan’s projects include production of renewable energy on-site.

He has earned a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, a Masters in Operations Research from Stevens Institute of Technology, and has been designated a LEED AP by the US Green Building Council. He has been licensed to practice Professional Engineering in NY, NJ, and CT since 1973 and is a present-day Research Associate at Cooper Union’s School of Engineering’s Center for Energy Reclamation
