Montclair Kimberley Academy's up-and-coming softball team enjoyed having the potent bat and sure-handed glove of Upper Montclair resident Annie Barrett in its lineup this spring season.
The junior center fielder batted a hefty .358 with 22 runs scored, 20 RBI and 11 stolen bases for the 14-8 Cougars who were 9-0 in the Super Essex Conference-Colonial Division in capturing that conference title.
MKA also advanced to the finals of the state prep B-Division Tournament where it finished as the runner-up to Gill St. Bernard's.
