MONTCLAIR, NJ — A woman was taken to the hospital after a man punched her during an argument in Montclair last week, authorities said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to the Valley Road Parking Lot on June 2 after getting a report about a fight.
Officers found a woman with a cut on the left side of her head at the scene. She was treated by Montclair EMS members and taken to Saint Joseph’s Hospital, authorities said.
Citing witnesses and surveillance video footage, police said the incident unfolded when the woman – who was sitting on a sidewalk bench – got into a verbal argument with a man in a black shirt wearing a backpack.
The woman stood up and appears to throw a liquid at the man, who then strikes her with a closed fist and walks away heading north on Valley Road, police said.
Authorities said the woman was “uncooperative” with police. No additional information was immediately available.
