Victim Hospitalized After ‘Unprovoked’ Punch In Montclair: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A person was taken to the hospital after being punched in the face while sitting in front of the Salvation Army building in Montclair last week, authorities say.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place July 24 on Trinity Place.

The victim told officers that someone approached and hit him in the face. The assault was unprovoked, he said.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Mountainside Hospital to be treated for facial injuries. No additional details were immediately available, including a description of the suspect.
