MONTCLAIR, NJ — A driver pepper sprayed a pedestrian in the face during a confrontation about money in Montclair last week, police say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place Aug. 4 on Pine Street. Here's what allegedly happened, authorities said:
"The victim reported that he was standing on the corner of Glenridge Avenue and Pine Street when a vehicle pulled up next to him and asked him for money. When he told the operator that he had no money, the driver pulled out a canister of pepper spray and spayed the victim in his face and on his clothing."
The suspect – described only as a woman – drove off in an unknown direction, police said.
