MONTCLAIR, NJ — A popular coffeeshop recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a shindig at its Montclair location.
Bleu Coffee held its "Out of Many, One Coffee" celebration last week at 9 Erie Street in Montclair, which it opened in 2024. The business previously opened two locations in Jersey City.
Over the past decade, the coffeeshop has become known for its single-origin Jamaican coffees and other international offerings, which have hailed from Ethiopia, Kenya, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Sumatra and Tanzania.
Bleu Coffee has also gotten a reputation as a place where community-building is a valued part of the business plan, regularly hosting live music and becoming a hub for gatherings – such as their 10-year anniversary party in Montclair on Sept. 27, which included a traditional Jamaican BBQ feast.
"For the past ten years, Bleu Coffee has been so much more than a place to grab a cup of coffee—it has been a home for connection and shared history," founder Kevin O'Gilvie said.
"Seeing our patrons, partners, and friends gather on Erie Street to celebrate our Jamaican roots and this 10-year journey was deeply meaningful," O'Gilvie added. "We raise a cup to our incredible community and look forward to the next decade together."
