“Each year hundreds of dedicated bicyclists brave the weather, ride to the Brookdale ShopRite and pick up frozen turkeys which they then ride to deliver to the food pantry. It is an amazing display of the community caring for people in need. Turkey Ride founders Linda Sterling , Dave Adornato (Bikery owner) and Tami Furman (Bikery staff member) have grown the ride into a major event that last year provided over 300 turkeys and thousands of dollars in monetary donations! In 2022, the food pantry collected and distributed over 1,300 turkeys to people in need and the turkey ride helped make that possible.”
“The Human Needs Food Pantry is serving more people than ever before in our history, with over 100 additional new households registering for assistance every month – so we ask for the support of the community to help us keep up with the need,” organizers said.
