Armed Robbery In Montclair, Victim Was Walking Dog At Time: Police

A vehicle used in the robbery has been linked to similar incidents in Union, Elizabeth and Jersey City, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — An armed robbery took place in Montclair earlier this week, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the robbery happened Sunday on North Willow Street as the victim was walking her dog. At that time, a dark-colored Acura pulled up alongside her.

“Two males exited the vehicle and approached her. The driver remained in the vehicle. One of the males that exited the car brandished a handgun and demanded her belongings, specifically her jewelry. One of the suspects forcibly removed her necklace from her neck. The suspects then reentered the Acura and fled south towards Glenridge Avenue.”

Montclair police noted that the vehicle was recovered later in Jersey City. It has been linked to similar incidents in Union, Elizabeth and Jersey City.
