Bloomfield Woman Punched During Robbery In Montclair: Cops
A man punched a 68-year-old Bloomfield woman in the face and grabbed her car keys, Montclair police said.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A man punched a 68-year-old Bloomfield woman in the face and grabbed her car keys during a robbery in Montclair last week, police said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident took place on Sept. 17. The victim told officers that she had parked in the driveway on Windemere Road when a tan-colored sedan pulled up nearby. An unknown man – who seemed like he was lost – approached her vehicle, asking if he was in Montclair and if she knew directions out of town.
As she was replying, he walked up and punched her in the face through the open car window, police said.

The man reached into the car and tried to pull the keys out of the ignition. He managed to snag a few, but didn’t get the ignition key. He then got into his car – possibly a Toyota Camry – and fled the scene, authorities stated.
The victim described her assailant as a black male about 30-years-old, 5 feet 10 inches and 160 pounds. He was wearing a blue-colored, hooded sweatshirt, police said.

The victim suffered facial injuries during the robbery, authorities said.
