UPDATE: Police Find Girl, 10, Reported Missing In Glen Ridge

Naomi Kahl was found shortly after Glen Ridge police issued a missing persons alert on Monday, authorities say.

Glen Ridge, NJ – A 10-year-old Essex County girl reported missing on Monday morning was found shortly after an alert was issued, according to police.

The Glen Ridge Police Department stated that Naomi Kahl, pictured above, was last seen running north on High Street approaching Belleville Avenue at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 14.

Police described Kahl as a Caucasian female around 4 feet 11 inches and 70 pounds with dirty blonde hair, wearing a purple shirt and flower pants.

Glen Ridge police issued an update at 11:48 a.m., stating that Kahl was located and "is OK."

Glen Ridge Police Chief Sheila Byron-Lagattuta issued the following statement about the incident:

"The Glen Ridge Police department was contacted by the Ridgewood Avenue Upper Elementary School Principal at 9:07 a.m. reporting a missing student. The juvenile did not report to school and was last seen by a witness at Snowden Place and Hillside Avenue. With the assistance of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, The Glen Ridge Office of Emergency Management, the Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Squad and several other volunteer groups, the juvenile was eventually located by Sergeant Dean Gnardellis at 11:38 a.m. The juvenile was unharmed and returned to her mother."
