Briefcases, Laptop, Wallet Stolen From Cars In Montclair: Police

A victim said someone stole a wallet from his car while he was working in Montclair. Another person reported stolen briefcases, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Two car burglaries were reported in Montclair last week, authorities announced Tuesday.

The Montclair Police Department released the following details about each incident:

April 2 (Summit Avenue) – “A complainant reported that two briefcases were stolen from his vehicle. The briefcases reportedly contained an iPad, a Macbook, and work documents. There is no suspect information.”

April 6 (Upper Montclair Plaza) – “A victim reported that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle while he was performing work nearby. The victim began receiving alerts from his bank advising him of suspicious activity (Apple purchase for $947, Starbucks for $450). This caused him to check for his wallet which he discovered missing. The wallet also reportedly contained $3,000 in cash.”
