Lacordaire Academy

Lacordaire Academy is a PK-12 independent Catholic day school in Upper Montclair, NJ. Founded in 1920 by the Sisters of St. Dominic, Lacordaire's traditional Dominican Catholic approach to education emphasizes scholarship, moral character, citizenship, and appreciation for the arts and sciences.

Our Lower & Middle Division (Pre-K through 8) enrolls boys and girls, while the Upper School (grades 9-12) enrolls all-girls.

Lacordaire offers a wholesome, age-appropriate community where each stage of childhood is celebrated, not rushed. Classes are capped at between 12 and 19 students. 100% of Lacordaire's graduates from both the Middle and Upper Divisions are accepted into at least one of their top 3 high school or college choices.
