Aldrin may have beat all but one person to the surface of the moon, but he isn’t the first astronaut to have a school renamed in his honor in Essex County. In May, the West Orange School District renamed Pleasantdale Elementary School in honor of Essex County natives and brothers Mark and Scott Kelly.
