Montclair will come together to "Make Music" for the twelfth time on Saturday June 21st when we celebrate Make Music Day.
Make Music Day is an annual event organized by Montclair arts non-profit, Indie Arts Montclair that will bring music, poetry and more to retail shops, public spaces, coffee shops and more. https://montclairmakesmusic.or...
The event is an "official" Montclair endorsed event as proclaimed at the June 3rd Twp Council meeting.
The day will begin early with a Ukulele play along starting at 10:30 am at the Judy Weston garden at Watching Park, a Montclair pop-up band performance at a home on Central Ave and a "Circle Singing" event starting at 11:30 at The Space on Bloomfield Ave. From there we will have events all over town, including at the Montclair Farmers Market, the opening celebration of Lackawanna Plaza, the front lawn of the First Congregational Church on So Fullerton Ave., Bellevue Ave Branch of the Montclair Public Library, and so much more. https://montclairmakesmusic.or... We'll also have a "The World Turned Upside Down" community sing along outside First Congregational Church. Events will be indoors and outside and will happen rain or shine!
Montclair Make Music Day is extra special this year, because we are partnering with local youth and student organization Terry's Serendipity Cafe as they celebrate their 30th Anniversary with performances at Edgemont Park and with an "after party" at the First Lutheran Church on Park St (we hear there will be special guest performers!)
We also have news that Diamond Cycle will offer a 20% discount for all bike rentals on Make Music Day, just use the code "MAKEMUSICDAY". Bikes must be returned by 5:00 pm
Held annually on June 21, Make Music Day is part of the international Fête de la Musique, taking place in 800+ cities across 120 countries. Make Music Day is a day where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music, and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice.
