Event Details

Montclair Public Library, 50 S Fullerton Ave, Montclair, NJ, 07042

The Montclair Public Library’s annual The Little Read event is a community tradition that celebrates literacy and brings families, local leaders, and volunteers together each fall. This storytime marathon, held to highlight the importance of reading aloud to young children, will take place from October 14 - 17, with a final celebration that is open to the public at Montclair Public Library beginning at 6:30pm.

"The Little Read is more than just books – it’s a celebration of community and a gift to our kids,” said Mary Packer, Executive Director of the Montclair Public Library Foundation. "By bringing together neighbors, authors, and local leaders who share their love of reading, we’re showing our children that they matter and that they belong to a caring, connected place – Montclair – that’s invested in their success. And through sponsorship of the Little Read, community partners, including The Tutor Shack of Montclair make children's programming at the library possible all year round."

“The Tutor Shack of Montclair is excited to continue its support of this annual event for the third consecutive year as a Reading Buddy to help provide children with opportunities to build strong reading skills and foster a lifelong love of books, said Steph Legnosky, owner of The Tutor Shack. “We believe that education extends beyond the classroom. That’s why we’re dedicated to fostering community growth by sponsoring and partnering with local organizations that share our passion for education and empowerment.”

For many years, The Tutor Shack has worked with Montclair families, students, and community organizations to expand educational opportunities and support learning in the area.

As an active member of Montclair's educational community, The Tutor Shack is committed to advancing literacy and learning for everyone, which will build students confidence and essential skills for academic success and personal growth.

The Tutor Shack is proud to join with the Montclair Public Library and other sponsors in nurturing a culture of literacy and lifelong learning across our community.
