Art Opening: Rewind at the 50 Mark w/ Sherwin Banfield at Montclair Brewery

Come out for a collection of art pieces through the years by artist Sherwin Banfield. From his time growing up in Montclair to the present, 50yrs later.

Sherwin Banfield is a Trinidadian born, Montclair raised, Queens NY based mixed-media artist who create works of art exploring journeys of identity and ancestry. Sherwin's creative practice deconstructs the imaginative and physical journey of identity within his preferred subject matter, the human experience.

While exploring the journey of his subject, he would seek to draw a connection between their personal stories and established culture, frequently imposing mythological and imaginative ideas as accessories within his sculptures and paintings.

Recent projects build upon experimental ideas of encompassing varying contemporary mixed materials with traditional sculpture; lighting, sound and solar power that he refers to as Sustainable Sonic Sculpture.
