Barknic

Barknic is an indoor, fun‑filled summer celebration for dogs and their humans, taking place Saturday, August 8th from 12–5 PM at Lackawanna Station in Montclair, NJ. Designed as a joyful, community‑centered event, Barknic brings together families, dog lovers, Wise alumni, local businesses, and fellow rescues for an afternoon packed with activities, shopping, and memorable experiences. There’s truly something for everyone! Guests can explore a curated selection of local vendors, enjoy interactive activities for kids, adults, and pups, take part in exciting raffles and giveaways, and soak in the lively atmosphere that makes Barknic such a special day. You’ll also get to see adoptable dogs and cats who are looking for loving homes, adding a heartwarming rescue element to the fun.

While the event features many partners and participants, your attendance helps shine a light on Wise Animal Rescue’s work to save animals of all ages and breeds, provide essential veterinary care, and give them a second chance through compassionate foster homes. Wise Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) foster‑based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing animals from places where they are no longer wanted or properly cared for. Barknic is a celebration of community, rescue, and the joy that comes from bringing people and pets together under one roof.
