Event Details
In a world where celebrity & fame can distract us from real issues in our society, there are those who transcend beyond recognition. Many of those challenges deal with mental health, especially in the black & brown communities. Tupac Shakur, a revolution artist, challenged society & its people in such a way; his work continues to be reexamined, celebrated, & taught even at a higher learning level.
This event is dedicated to Tupac Shakur's humanity, not to glorify his fame, but to honor him as a community leader, entrepreneur, & his love for his people. This event will both raise awareness & fundraising for a mental health-based organization called Family Health Care, whose mission is to empower people, build strong families and transform communities through a team of caring professionals who are rooted in faith, hope, and love.
2Pac Revisited will be presented in 2 Parts.
First, a free panel discussion at 3pm at Montclair Public Library on Tupac's humanity moderated by NJ artist ROSTAFA, followed by a Q&A discussion.
Second, doors open at 5:30PM, starting with a special poetry section featuring local poets to kick off the concert fundraiser at 6PM. At approximately 7PM, a concert with two sets of solely Tupac's discography will be performed by local rappers, singers, dancers, & musicians.
There is a 2 drink minimum requirement. No outside drinks are permitted under any circumstances.
