Car Stolen From Livingston Spotted During Montclair Theft: Police
PD: A thief stole a car in Montclair. A vehicle stolen from Livingston was spotted during the theft. One car was later found in Belleville.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A car stolen in Montclair set off a police chase on Monday, authorities said. The vehicle – which was followed by another car stolen out of Livingston – was later found abandoned in Belleville.
According to the Montclair Police Department, a College Avenue resident said he woke up around 4 a.m. and saw someone driving his Audi Q7 in reverse out of the driveway. The vehicle proceeded south on College Avenue, then east on Mount Hebron Road, followed by a second vehicle.
Officers responding to the scene found the Audi moving “at a high rate of speed” south on North Fullerton Avenue, with a white Range Rover – reported stolen out of Livingston – following behind it.

Police terminated their pursuit at Elm Street and Llewellyn Road, with the two vehicles continuing south.
The Audi was recovered two hours later, abandoned in Belleville, authorities said.
