Car Stolen In Monmouth County Spotted In Montclair: Police

A car stolen from Monmouth County was spotted in Montclair after it was used in an attempted motor vehicle crime, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A car stolen from Monmouth County was spotted in Montclair after it was used in an attempted motor vehicle crime on Memorial Day, police said.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the incident, which took place on Norwood Avenue:

“The resident reported that he observed a young male walk up his driveway and pull on the driver's door handle of his Audi A4. Upon seeing the individual in his driveway, the resident yelled out his back door, causing the suspect to run off and enter an awaiting Audi. The suspect vehicle was determined to be stolen from Marlboro, NJ.”

While canvassing the area, officers found a second vehicle that was illegally entered. A $500 pair of sunglasses was stolen from the vehicle, police said.
