Car Stolen In Montclair, Motor Bike Nearly Taken: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police said two motor vehicle crimes were reported last week: one on Orange Road, and another on Valley Road.

The Montclair Police Department released the following details about each incident:

May 4 (Orange Road) - An employee of South End Gardens Senior Apartments reported that he observed an unknown man attempting to steal a motor bike from the east side of the parking complex. The suspect attempted to place the motor bike into the rear of a dark-colored sedan. Once the suspect realized he could not fit the motorbike into his vehicle, he fled the scene.

May 9 (Valley Road) - The victim reported that he parked his 2018 Mazda CX5 in the Quick Check parking lot. The vehicle was left running with the key fob left inside. When he returned to the vehicle after making a purchase, he observed a man exit the parking lot in his vehicle. It was last seen traveling south on Valley Road, and then east on Walnut Street.
