Car Stolen In Montclair While Driver Was Picking Up Uber Eats Order: Police

The car's owner went inside a nearby restaurant to pick up his food order. When he returned, the vehicle was gone, police said.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A car was stolen in Montclair last week while the owner went into a restaurant to pick up an Uber Eats order, police say.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the theft took place on June 19.

The victim said he left his 2022 Toyota Corolla parked on Bloomfield Avenue with the keys in the cupholder. He went inside a nearby restaurant to pick up his food order, and when he returned, the car was gone.

The vehicle was found the next day on 17th Avenue in Newark, police said.
