Car Stolen In Montclair While Owner Warms It Up: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A car was stolen and another vehicle was burglarized in Montclair last week, authorities announced Tuesday.

The Montclair Police Department released the following details about each incident:

Jan. 29 (Lexington Avenue) – “A complainant reported that his 2021 Dodge Durango was entered during the day. A black Louis Vuitton backpack was removed. The backpack reportedly contained seven iPhones. Surveillance footage shows a dark-colored sedan park in front of the complainant’s residence at 3 p.m. A male exits from the passenger side and is seen entering the victim’s car, removing the bag.”

Jan. 31 (Willowmere Avenue) – “A resident reported that his 2017 Honda Pilot was stolen from his driveway during the early morning hours. The resident was warming his car up before leaving for work. When he walked out to the car his observed it driving away north on Willowdale Avenue. It was recovered the following day in Newark.”
