Car Stolen While Owner Eats At Montclair Restaurant: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A car was stolen in Montclair last weekend while the owner was eating inside Panera Bread on Bloomfield Avenue, police announced Tuesday.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the car theft, which took place on Sunday:

“The complainant reported that his black Chevy Malibu was stolen from a parking space in Glenmont Square. The complainant had been dining at Panera Bread and when he exited, he discovered his car was missing. Responding officers located the vehicle in the rear of Glenmont Square, unoccupied. It appeared the vehicle had mounted the curb and the suspects immediately fled.”
