CARS In Montclair, Ramsey Gathers 1200 Cans For Charity

CARS: Sandwiches and Shakes recently held its annual canned food drive, gathering 1,269 items to benefit the Center For Food Action.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — CARS: Sandwiches and Shakes recently held its annual canned food drive, gathering 1,269 items to benefit the Mahwah-based Center For Food Action via drives at the Montclair and Ramsey locations.

According to a news release from the restaurant, customers were offered a free side dish if they brought in two canned items and a free 8-inch Fat Sandwich if they donated five canned items.

“It’s always a great feeling to bring our community together for something like this,“ said Rich Dibenedetto, co-owner of CARS.

“It feels good to get our younger customers aware of charity and donating goods to those less fortunate,” stated co-owner AJ Dibenedetto. “We were really proud that we were able to donate the amount that we did and we hope to do more charity work throughout the year."
