Celebrated Children's Author Judith Viorst to Appear at MKA on Sunday, November 9

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear Judith Viorst, world-renowned writer and author of the iconic Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day (recently released as a Disney movie starring Steve Carrel and Jennifer Garner) live at the MKA Middle School Auditorium, 201 Valley Road, Montclair (enter through the Brunswick Road Parking Lot entrance) on Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m. In addition to speaking and taking questions, Ms. Viorst will sign copies of her books that will be available for sale that day.

Ms. Viorst’s appearance heralds the start of the largest Scholastic Book Fair in the country and the MKA Parents’ Association invites the entire community to the opening their “Enter the Kingdom of Reading” Sunday Spectacular event, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. In addition to Ms. Viorst’s appearance, thousands of the latest releases in child and adult titles will be available, as well as the unique opportunity to order autographed books from the following celebrated authors scheduled to visit MKA later in the week: Kwame Alexander (The Crossover, He Said, She Said), Raul Colon (Draw!), Lisa Fiedler (Mouseheart), Brian Floca (Locomotive), Kenneth Oppel (Airborn, the Silverwing series), Tom Lichtenheld (This is a Moose, What Are You So Grumpy About?) and Sharon Robinson (How Jackie Robinson Changed America). Autographed books make wonderful gifts so don’t miss this chance to get a head start on your holiday and birthday shopping!

Adding to the day, everyone is invited to “Feasting and Festivities” in the Middle School Dining Hall from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., where pizza and Applegate Farm ice cream sundaes will be available for purchase.
