Collazos-Gill Of Montclair Begins Term As NJ Assemblywoman
Alixon Collazos-Gill (NJ-27) will represent Livingston, Millburn, Montclair, Roseland and West Orange and Clifton.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pair of new lawmakers have officially kicked off their terms as members of the New Jersey Assembly, including a Montclair resident.
On Tuesday, Alixon Collazos-Gill was sworn into her office as an assembly member in the 27th District, which includes the towns of Livingston, Millburn, Montclair, Roseland and West Orange in Essex County, and Clifton in Passaic County.
According to a news release from the New Jersey Assembly Democrats, Collazos-Gill is a senior partner at BGill Group and is recognized as one of the top Spanish-language media and political consultants in New Jersey, specializing in outreach to New Jersey’s diverse Latino community. She serves as a board member of the New Jersey Hispanic Research and Information Center, BlueWave NJ, and is an alumnae and former board member of Emerge NJ. She also served as the director of Latino outreach for Gov. Phil Murphy’s 2017 campaign.

Collazos-Gill obtained her bachelor of arts degree in sociology and Latin American literature from Rutgers University and her master’s degree in international and global studies from New York University. She currently lives in Montclair with her husband, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, and their two children.
Collazos-Gill said she is “grateful for the opportunity” to serve New Jersey.

“I am excited to get to work on behalf of my constituents and to give a voice to our Latino residents,” Collazos-Gill said.
Assemblywoman Rosaura “Rosy” Bagolie, a Livingston Township councilwoman and superintendent of the East Newark School District, was also sworn into office in the state’s 27th District this week.
