Construction In Montclair: Roads, Traffic Signal Improvements

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The county is scheduled to begin road and traffic signal construction in Montclair next week, officials announced Friday.
According to a Montclair municipal advisory, Essex County will start construction next week in an effort to modernize traffic signals and improve roadways. Work will take place at several intersections:
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND N/S MOUNTAIN AVE
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND ORANGE RD/BELL ST
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND VALLEY RD
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND MIDLAND AVE (NEW SIGNAL)
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND PARK ST
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND N/S FULLERTON ST/CHURCH ST/GLENRIDGE AVE
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND SEYMOUR ST (PEDESTRIAN SIGNAL)
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND N/S WILLOW ST
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND GATES AVE/LACKAWANNA PLAZA
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND ELM ST/GROVE ST
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND HARTLEY ST
- BLOOMFIELD AVE (CR-506) AND MAPLE AVE/PINE ST
“We intend to keep the impacted roadways open throughout the construction,” Montclair officials stated. “There may be periods of time, however, when certain driveways may be inaccessible. This inconvenience will be temporary, and will be controlled to the extent that it can be.”

“The County of Essex regrets this short-term disturbance, but we are hopeful that the end product will be something that the residents of the Township of Montclair can be proud of,” officials said.
