Construction Scheduled In Montclair: Drainage, Possible Sidewalks
Here's what to know about a construction project slated to kick off in Montclair on June 10.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of the Township of Montclair. Find out how to post announcements or events to your local Patch site.
The Township of Montclair has contracted with Riverview Paving, Inc. for the construction of drainage improvements on South Park Street. Work is scheduled to commence on or about Monday, June 10, 2024, weather permitting. Construction activity will be on South Park Street (between Bloomfield Avenue to Church Street). Please note work will continue as weather permits.
Improvements will include drainage infrastructure improvements and may also include spot replacement of sidewalks, as necessary. Paving will be performed at a later date and a separate notice will be issued to affected residents prior to the start of paving.

No parking will be allowed on the street during the day while construction is in progress. The street may also be closed to traffic at various times during the day. If you must use your vehicle(s) during the day; it should be removed from your driveway and parked on a side street by 7:00 A.M. Access to your driveway may also be restricted for several days (and nights) if curb is being replaced in front of your property and while the concrete driveway apron is curing. Additional information regarding the construction is on the reverse side of this notice.
Utilities – gas, electric, water will be marked out by the appropriate utility company prior to the start of construction work. Please mark out any private underground sprinklers, invisible fences, heating elements within your driveway or other privately installed items prior to construction to avoid damage. Also, notify us of other issues such as retaining walls, drainage pipes and/or any other private installations within the Township’s right of way which is approximately 10 feet behind the curb.

The supervisor for this project is Norberto Hernandez. If the supervisor is not on-site, we ask that you do not approach the contractor but immediately call the Department of Community Services at 973-509-5711. The supervisor will contact you by phone and/or return to the job site within a short time.
