Crash, Disabled Vehicles Reported In Essex County: Public Officials Urge Drivers To Stay Home
A crash took place on the NJ Turnpike, and disabled vehicles were reported on 280 East and US 1 and 9.

A state of emergency has been declared in New Jersey, but some drivers in Essex County aren’t heeding public officials’ advice to stay off the roadways until the storm conditions abate.

NJ511.org reported an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike on Saturday morning, as well as several disabled vehicles.
- As of 10:28am, there’s an Accident on the New Jersey Turnpike inner roadway southbound North of Interchange 14 - I-78/US 1&9 in Newark. Left lane blocked.
- As of 10:06am, there’s a disabled vehicle on I-78 express lanes eastbound exiting at Exit 56 - Elizabeth Ave in Newark. Partial ramp blocked.
- As of 9:52am, there’s a disabled vehicle on I-280 eastbound area of Exit 8 - CR 577 in West Orange Twp. Right lane closed.
- As of 8:50am, there’s a disabled vehicle on US 1&9 local lanes southbound approaching Wilson Ave in Newark. Right lane blocked.
