Crates Of Seafood Stolen From Delivery Truck In Montclair: Police
MPD: The haul included 27 pounds of cod filet, 28 pounds of Pulpo, 15 pounds of lobster, 10 pounds of shrimp and 10 pounds of tuna steaks.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Someone swiped nearly $900 worth of seafood from a parked delivery truck in Montclair earlier this month, police announced Tuesday.
The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the theft, which took place on Walnut Street on March 19:
“The complainant reported that a box of seafood was stolen from his delivery truck while parked on Walnut Street. He stated that the roll-up door was left open while making a delivery. When he returned, he discovered that a white Styrofoam box containing 27 pounds of Icelandic cod filet fish was missing. A separate crate was missing that reportedly contained 28 pounds of Pulpo, 15 pounds of lobster, 10 pounds of shrimp, and 10 pounds of six-ounce tuna steaks.”
The driver provided an invoice for the stolen food, which was valued at $895, authorities said.
