Day Two of the Montclair Film Festival

Hey Film Fans,

Today's schedule features five new films, at the Clairidge and Bellevue Theater. In addition, a FREE panel on Filmmaking in New Jersey, starts at 7:30, at the Audible Lounge on Bloomfield Ave. Representatives from Sony Pictures Classics will be on hand to discuss the challenges.

Of the films, two look especially interesting; both are playing at the beautiful Bellevue. The first is called Women Aren't Funny, which is directed by and stars the NJ-based comedian Bonnie McFarlane. It investigates a claim made by Christopher Hitchens that women are inherently unfunny. Comic giants like Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, and Joan Rivers make appearances. Showtime is 7 PM, and the director will be present to answer questions following the screening.

The second film, One: A Story of Love and Quality, is also directed by a NJ-based director, Becca Roth. She traveled down South to "find out what motivates people to vote against gay marriage." The documentary illustrates the differing views on this important issue. Showtime is 9 PM; Becca Roth will be in person to answer questions following the screening.

Lastly, if you missed Chef yesterday, no worries. It will be playing again tonight at 7 PM at the Clairidge.

More to come...
