Delivery Spat With Union Restaurant Escalates, Essex Man Says: Reports
A Montclair man said he's filed a police report against a Union business for posting his contact information online, a report says.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — It was a rainy North Jersey night when Joe Stephen ordered delivery.
The Montclair resident chose Get Stuffed NJ in Union, and waited for his Uber Eats driver to arrive. After 45 minutes, he texted the restaurant to see where the order was.
Thus began a heated exchange much-shared on social media, where a store representative told Stephen not to "be a d***** bag." Stephen posted screen shots of the April 7 conversation on Facebook.

"checking its rush hour" the restaurant responds, then shares a screen shot of a traffic map with this response:
"bumper to bumper everywhere and flooding everywhere - getting driver info and its not due yet - would you like us to ask somebody to jump into a helicopter for you"
It was raining heavily that night across North Jersey.
"Excuse me?" Stephen replied.
"its rush hour and pouring outside and you ordered from union - don't be a d***** bag."
The conversation continues for some time, and Stephen claims the restaurant posted his name, telephone number, and address in social media comments. Several screenshots corroborate this claim.
Stephen posted the screenshots of the text conversation on Facebook.
Stephen said he filed a police report against the restaurant for posting his information, according to NJ.com. He said he has been having panic attacks in a discussion with NJ Advance Media.
Owner Sandy Wallace said the company did not publish any information that Stephen didn't put out first. Wallace said the driver "received hateful messages" and never got an apology, NJ.com reports.
Get Stuffed claimed Wallace apologized to Stephen, which Stephen denies, according to the report. Wallace also claimed Stephen posted the driver's phone number and name. Stephen admitted to accidentally doing this but said he took the screenshots down, NJ.com reported.
Get Stuffed offered a "helicopter pie" soon after the exchange, NJ.com reported.
