Djembe Drum Circle-A Family Event -Presented by Michael Conley

This particular workshop will focus on:

• Building community and
  positive self-image through rhythms and drumming

• No experience necessary -
  drums will be provided

• Suitable for children
  through adults

• Charge is $5.00 per
  participant (cash at the door)

Michael’s experience in drumming is long and far ranging:

He was a

• drummer in a rock bands
  through his mid-20’s

• marching band drummer in
  high school and college

• music studio drum kit
  teacher in grad school

He performs with

• The Maplewood Band 
  
  

• Taiko Zoku, a Japanese
  drumming group

• several African percussion
  groups

 Currently, in African drumming, Michael has

• created products for the
  djembe - sold at his website: Slap Tone Percussion

• studied with various
  African drum masters
