Dog For A Day: Montclair Animal Shelter Lends Animals For Day Trips
The Montclair Animal Shelter allows responsible volunteers to "sign out" a dog for a day and take them for an outdoor mini-vacation.

Are you a Montclair animal lover with a few hours to spare?
In a social media post that’s gone viral, the Montclair Animal Shelter announced that it allows volunteers to “sign a dog out for the day” and take them for some much-deserved recreation.
“Did you know you can sign a dog out for the day?” the shelter’s social media post states. “Today, Luis took Willow to Eagle Rock Reservation so that she can enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. If you have a free day and want a friend to tag along, come foster one of our dogs for a day, or even a few hours.”

“My son and I would love to have a dog to keep us company on hikes, etc. just not at a point we can take one home for keeps just yet,” wrote another interested volunteer.
Interested volunteers should stop at the shelter to fill out a foster application, according to an update from the shelter.
