Early Montclair School Budget Figures Released At Board Meeting
The Montclair Board of Education heard a presentation and saw some early figures for the 2023-2024 school budget.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Board of Education heard a presentation and saw some early figures for the 2023-2024 school budget during their meeting earlier this week.
On Monday, district business administrator Christina Hunt crunched some numbers for the board, including revenues, expenditure increases, tax levy impacts and debt service from the bonds issued as part of last year’s landmark school bond referendum.

The district is projecting $138.85 million in revenue and $146.4 million in expenses, leaving a $7.54 million deficit. The school board will hold a public hearing about the budget on May 3, with final budget adoption scheduled for May 15, Montclair Local reported.
