Eddie Griffin to Perform at Montclair's Wellmont Theater

Montclair, NJ -- Veteran comedian, Eddie Griffin, will bring his hilarious standup comedy act to Montclair’s historic Wellmont Theater on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

The Kansas City-born comedian turned actor started his career on-stage as a dare and has been churning out hits for more than 30 years. Skyrocketing to fame after appearing on Def Comedy Jam, His own HBO Special and as a result starring in his own sitcom - Malcom & Eddie, the comedian set out on domestic and international tours around the world.

Griffin's career leaped from the stage to television and then to starring in feature films ie Undercover Brother, Dysfunktional Family and 40+ film credits to his name. In 2014 He Started the Comedy Get Down Tour with George Lopez, Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and the now departed Charlie Murphy - and the CGD Tour resulted in The Comedy Get Down TV Series with aired on BET 2017 and is still touring domestically. Currently, after appearing 8 years at The Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Griffin has moved his residency to the Las Vegas Strip at SLS Hotel & Casino as well as stars in his new Showtime special called, “Eddie Griffin: Undeniable." In his performance, Griffin offers his prolific and entertaining point of view on the state of the world, tackling politics, racism, relationships, religion and humanity as a whole.

Ultimately reflecting on his long-standing career, he pays tribute to close friends and late comedians Charlie Murphy, Bernie Mac, Dick Gregory and Richard Pryor (among others) with flawless impersonations.
