Essex County Commissioners Begin 2021 Budget Hearings

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The Essex County Board of County Commissioners will conduct their annual budget hearings for 2021 at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 26.

The virtual meetings will be streaming live; a link for the livestream will be posted on the commissioner website.

Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo released his proposed budget earlier in January. If approved by the commissioner board, the $770 million spending plan would "hold the line" at a 0.5 percent tax increase for local homeowners, officials said.

The county budget, along with municipal and school levies, make up a local property owner’s tax bill.
