In Essex County: Glen Ridge Cops Get Scraggly To Fight Cancer
Bearded and mustached officers in the GRPD will take part in "No Shave November" for 2016.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — If some members of the Glen Ridge Police Department look a little scraggly about the face this month, you’ll have to pardon their appearance. They’re just trying to help stomp out cancer.
The Glen Ridge Police Department announced Thursday that some of its officers will be taking part in “No Shave November,” a national cancer awareness event that asks participants to avoid shaving their facial hair for an entire month to help raise funds to battle the disease.
This will be second year the GRPD has participated in the event, police said. In 2015, officers managed to raise $3,500 for nonprofit group the Zeuner Foundation.
