Essex County Halloween Dog Costume Parades: ‘Strut Your Mutt’ 2017

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Think you have the cutest - or spookiest - dog in Essex County? Here’s your chance to prove it.

Local dog owners can display their creativity at “Strut Your Mutt,” Essex County’s free, annual canine Halloween costume parade and contest. This year, two parades have been scheduled:

Morning Parade

• Saturday, Oct. 21 (Rain Date: Sunday, Oct. 22)
• Registration at 9:15 a.m.; Parade at 10 a.m.
• Essex County Brookdale Dog Park, Grove Street, Montclair

Afternoon Parade

• Saturday, Oct. 21 (Rain Date: Sunday, Oct. 22)
• Registration at 1:15 p.m.; Parade at 2 p.m.
• Essex County South Mountain Dog Park, Crest Drive, Maplewood/Millburn, NJ

According to a county news release, prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in a variety of categories. For more information, call 973-268-3500.
