ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- UPDATE: Glen Ridge police announced that Oscar was found safe on Wednesday night. Police said the community's assistance was "incredible" and directly assisted with locating the teen. Our original article follows below.

Police are searching for a missing Essex County teen last seen on Wednesday, authorities said.

According to the Glen Ridge Police Department, "Oscar K.," a local 13-year-old male, was last seen around 3:30 p.m. on Midland Avenue.

Police described the missing youth as Caucasian, with long, brown hair, 5 feet 10 inches and 130 pounds. He was wearing blue croc shoes, a green, hooded sweatshirt, long pants and green eyeglasses. (See below photo)
