Essex County Teen Reported Missing, Returns Home: Police

Police asked for the public's help locating a 15-year-old male. He has since returned home, authorities say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Update: Bloomfield police stated that Jack Fernandez returned home Wednesday evening. Our original article follows below.

Bloomfield police are asking for the public’s help locating a 15-year-old Bloomfield High School student last seen on Monday morning.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, Jack Fernandez, 15, was last seen by his parents around 7:15 a.m. on May 22. Fernandez, a student at BHS, was subsequently reported absent from school, police said.

Fernandez is not in possession of his phone and has deleted all of his social media accounts, police said.

Police described Fernandez as a Hispanic male juvenile, 5 foot 10 inches and 160 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and a medium skin complexion. No clothing description was immediately available.
