Bloomfield Symphony Orchestr concert

The Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra, featuring many local Montclair musicians, will perform their final concert of the season on Sunday, May 20 at 3:00 in the Bloomfield Middle School, 60 Huck road.

Betty Zhou, an excellent young violinist will return to play the Mendelssohn Concerto for Violin. She is the winner of numerous competitions, including the 2002 Philadelphia Orchestra Festival's Concerto Competition, the 2003 Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition, and the 2006 New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's Young Artists Auditions, as well as a recipient of the New Horizons Fellowship at Aspen Music Festival. She performed as soloist with the Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra each of her High School years. Graduating from the Juilliard School this May, she will be continuing her studies at Yale University in the fall.

The concert will also include Schubert's Symphony No 9 in C major, "The Great".

Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 in advance online at www.bloomfieldsymphony.org.Children under 12 years old are free.
