Montclair United Soccer is hosting its first Cleat Swap, Friday, September 9, from 4:30-7 p.m. at Brookdale Stadium. The exchange gives families the opportunity to swap their child’s clean, gently used cleats for a pair that fit.
Here’s how it works. MUSC asks that you bring your used, laced, and (this is important) CLEARLY SIZED cleats to the spectator seating area of Brookdale Stadium. And then take home a “new to you” pair of cleats.

The cleat swap was the brainchild of Debra David and Patsy Manning, two moms who independently brought the idea to MUSC and were introduced to possibly organize the event. “I have two kids,” said Manning, “and every year – sometimes every season – my kids outgrow perfectly good, barely used cleats. I was going to just organize something around the neighborhood but I thought MUSC might be able to help spread the word.”
