
This ‘Healing Power of Gong & Mantra’ session with center founder/executive director Akalsukh Singh will begin with a pranayam (breathing technique) followed by light Kundalini Yoga exercises plus 26-54 frog poses to prepare the body and mind for deep meditation. Then move into deep relaxation with 31 minutes of a Healing Gong session. In Kundalini Yoga, the gong is often played during relaxation to strengthen the parasympathetic nervous system and help repair damage to the nervous system caused by stimulants (i.e. coffee) and stress. Continuous Gong sessions can dissolve negative thought patterns and subconscious blocks. After the Gong we will use the science of Naad - sound (mantra), to remind us that the entire universe was built on sound, on vibration. And, as we vibrate a particular combination of sounds, we will tune into a higher level of consciousness. At this level a deep rejuvenation cascades throughout the body.
