Parent Cafe Workshop on Discipline Strategies


MCPK TO HOLD PARENT CAFE WORKSHOP ON DISCIPLINE STRATEGIES

The Montclair Community Pre-K (MCPK) will hold Parent Cafe evenings, parenting workshops facilitated by Evelyn Shalom, expert-led discussions on various parenting topics held throughout the school year. Ms. Shalom has extensive experience as a parenting educator as well as in the roles of consultant, mother and grandma.
The upcoming Parent Cafe will be held on November 15th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the MCPK, located at 49 Orange Road in Montclair, and the discussion topic is "Discipline Strategies." Food and sleep issues will be discussed as well.The cost is $5 per adult/$2.50 per child (which includes dinner and childcare.) Preregistration is required by contacting the MCPK at 973-509-4500 and the event is open to all. Future Parent Cafe topics include: "I'm Bored!--Building Self-Reliance" on January 17, 2012, "Giving and Receiving- Instilling Gratitude and Preventing Entitlement" on March 20th and "Talking to Kids about Tough Topics" on May 15th.
The Parent Cafe series is sponsored by the MCPK Family Network Center (FNC), which provides parenting advice, workshops and support in a nurturing setting.  FNC, which is partially funded by The Montclair Fund for Women, opens its programs and workshops to the community and partners with numerous local entities on issues of importance to families and parents in Montclair.
