This will benefit Montclair's three largest food charities: The Human Needs Food Pantry, The Salvation Army Feeding Program and Toni's Kitchen. The Rotary Club of Montclair is once again the organizing body. Last year the event raised $8,900 for the charities, and the demand on their resources has never been greater. Donations are down and the need is up. According to Deanna London, director of the Food Pantry, their number of client meals has increased 15 percent over last year. Recently, The Salvation Army added a breakfast program to meet their clients' needs. When you enjoy a special pre-fixe, multi-course, meal next month for $31 or less, every cent of the extra dollar will be donated to the charities.Approximately 40 of Montclair's best restaurants are expected to participate. Through the efforts of Rotary Club members and committee volunteers, the cost to run the event is minimized, meaning that the maximum amount of money goes to the charities. It's the perfect time to enjoy a wonderful meal, support three deserving charities and celebrate one of the best things about Montclair: its restaurants.
